When circumstances seem unchanged and the load feels heavy. Don’t give up. Don’t let feelings of despair and heaviness steal your gaze from Your Papa’s love and nearness. When the lie is screaming loudly; ‘You can’t’, ‘You’re unable’, ‘You’re tired’, ‘Things will never look up’ - Let the truth have your unrelenting gaze and let it’s steadfast peace be your immovable anchor.
What is the truth?
'What is the truth?', you may wonder. God is in you, you will not be moved! (Psalm 46:5) He is your Help. He is your Hope. With Him on your side you are more than able. He has already secured your victory. Your trust in Him will bring you peace amidst the intimidation of rough and murky waters. The joyful expectation and hope in Him, in who He is, in every word, every promise He has given you, is your strength. What will failure look like? A loss of hope in Your Papa, a loss of faith that every promise He made you, He will accomplish on your behalf. Don’t try harder. Rely on Him more. Let your Papa carry your heavy burdens, your worries, your fears, your tiredness, and exchange it all for freedom, joy, and everlasting hope!
Be clothed with praise.
What is the antidote to heaviness and despair? Being clothed in a beautiful garment of praise! Put it on. He has given it to you as a weapon. Thank Him, praise Him, and see how weariness and hopelessness run for the hills!
This is your moment of breakthrough!
Don’t be distracted by what you see parading before your eyes. Look beyond the distraction that is influencing the way you feel. See what He sees, see the new day, see the realization of His promises. Say what He says. He loves you more than words can express. Just hold on tight to Him. You will see His goodness, His glory, and the fulfilment of every promise in your life. Believe it.
A word from your Papa's heart.
‘Beloved, I am with you, do you know that? Feel my tender love for you. See my eyes beaming with love and acceptance. For you. You are my beloved and I am yours. Believe in My nearness and My love for you. Remember it. Don't let the world entangle you with worry and despair. Give it to Me. Surrender it to My love. Be light. Become unburdened and be strengthened by every word that proceeds from My mouth. This is not the end. It is just the beginning to a beautiful adventure, filled with My goodness and care. I want you to know Me. Lay it down, every heavy burden, and rejoice in the freedom you have in Me. You are My beloved and nothing can separate you from My endless love for you.'
Conversations with God
Papa, I want to stay close to you. Help Me to keep My gaze fixed on your love for Me. Guard my mind and heart from distractions that would like to steal my attention from you and rob me of my joy, of my unswerving trust in Your faithfulness. You are my joy, your nearness and Your voice brings me great joy. I delight in You, Father. I choose to see what You see. I choose to say what You say. Show me when my emotions mislead me into unbelief and burden me with worry and despair. Thank You for Your goodness! Thank You for Your mercy! Thank You that You are My very present help in times of need! Thank You that we are walking through life together and that nothing can separate me from Your love. I lay every burden at your feet. Thank You for taking care of Me.
